Liver Transplant at University of Alberta

60-80 liver transplants per year, 10-20% paediatric.

50% of time is protected for education and training in liver transplantation anaesthesia, research and teaching.

Transplant cases will be done with one of 4 attending anesthesiologists.

Invovlement in research is expected.

The remaining 50% of time will be spent delivering anaesthetic services as a staff anesthesiologist.

Opportunity is available to spend one month with the Cardiac Anaesthesia group to learn transoesophageal echocardiography.

Fellows will be part of the night and weekend on-call rota.
