Research at Fiona Stanley

The research fellowship is designed to give fellows an introduction to all aspects of the conduct of local and international clinical trials in anaesthesia.

Ongoing ANZCA clinical trial network research projects run out of FSFHG include the Perioperative Administration of Dexamethasone and Infection trial with future involvement in the IV iron for Treatment of Anaemia before Cardiac Surgery trial.

Fellows wishing to conduct their own research projects will be fully supported by the research team.

Selection criteria are:

1. Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia

2. Completion of final fellowship exam (FANZCA or overseas equivalent from comparable training programme)

3. Demonstrated high level skills in all aspects of the CanMEDS physician competency framework

4. Prior teaching, research and audit experience are desirable
