Regional Anaesthesia at Fiona Stanley

There is a strong focus on regional anaesthesia across Fiona Stanley and Fremantle Hospitals. Two Regional Anaesthesia Fellowships are offered every 6 months.

Fellows will have a chance to learn and enhance regional anaesthesia techniques with the majority of experience in orthopaedic surgery, hand trauma, breast and plastic surgery as well as with general surgery, vascular surgery and ophthalmology.

Fellows will have teaching responsibilities to pass on their skills to other trainees as well as opportunities for audit and research and presenting at cross-hospital regional anaesthesia meetings.

Selection criteria are:

1. Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia

2. Completion of final fellowship exam (FANZCA or overseas equivalent from comparable training programme)

3. Demonstrated high level skills in all aspects of the CanMEDS physician competency framework

4. Prior teaching, research and audit experience are desirable
