Post duration 6-12 month

Start dates February or August

====================

Frimley Park Hospital (part of Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust) is a friendly and innovative 700 bed acute hospital based on the Surrey/Hants border. We are rated as “excellent” by the Health Care Commission and staff scored the Trust in the top 20% of hospitals in England for training, development and job satisfaction. With over 40 elective orthopaedic lists per week and daily trauma lists, there is ample opportunity to learn a wide range of regional anaesthesia techniques. Peripheral regional anaesthesia is practised widely for orthopaedic procedures, including awake hand and shoulder surgery. Additionally, there is the opportunity to learn blocks relevant to the provision of general surgical procedures, gynaecology, vascular surgery and for acute pain management.

The Fellow would be supported in undertaking a service improvement, research or audit project and would be encouraged to present or publish such work.

The Fellow will take part in the trainee 1:8 on call rota, being on call for Obstetrics, the Intensive Care Unit or Theatres as required by the department. The trainees are supported by an anaesthetic consultant and an intensive care consultant on call from home.
