Regional Anaesthesia at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University, Illinois

6 months in adult regional anaesthesia and acute pain management (Northwestern Memorial Hospital). Learn a range of neuraxial techniques and peripheral nerve catheters, local anaesthetic and opioid infusions and non-narcotic adjuvants.
6 months in paediatric regional anaesthesia and acute pain management (Children's Memorial Hospital). Learn use of neuraxial techniques, peripheral nerve catheters, opioid and non-opioid infusions. Regional anaesthesia service provides head and neck blocks, upper and lower extremity blocks, truncal blocks, thoracic and lumbar epidurals in infants, children and adolescents.
Fellow will supervise residents in the use of ultrasound for peripheral and central neuraxial blocks.
Daily work 6.30am - 5.00pm (or until case finished). Max 80 hour week
On-call from home 1-2 times per week and 1-2 weekends per month.
Regular grand rounds & journal club. Expected to present twice in 12 months.
