Regional Anaesthesia and Acute Pain Fellowship
Designed to develop expertise in peri-operative management of patients receiving peripheral nerve or neuraxial blockage for anaesthesia and/or analgesia. Covers orthopaedics, paediatrics, trauma, thoracic, vascular, plastic and general surgery. Also obstetrics and Inpatient pain service. The programme performs approx 5000 peripheral nerve blocks and 1000 neuraxial blocks for acute post-operative pain per year. Emphasis also on patient selection and education and underlying physiology and pharmacology.
Teaching provided includes departmental grand rounds, journal club, weekly lectures.
Annual Ultrasound Guided Regional Anaesthesia workshop.
Encouragement to partake in clinical research and present at regional/national meetings
