Regional Anaesthesia & Acute Pain at University of Minnesota

Working with Perioperative and Interventional Pain service (PIPS)

Provide up to date training in regional anaesthesia and acute pain in peri-operative and medical settings.

Fellow will master upper extremity, lower extremity and truncal single-shot and continuous peripheral nerve blocks using ultrasound guidance as well as nerve stimulator. Fellow will become skilled at landmark and ultrasound guided neuraxial techniques.

Rotation is as follows:

3 months: Regional Anaesthesia & Acute Pain at University Hospital

(Cardiac, Thoracic, Oncology, Trauma, Gynae oncology, General surgery, Urology)

3 months: Regional Anaesthesia & Acute Pain at Riverside Hospital

(Orthopaedics, Spine, Paediatrics, Obstetrics, Urology)

3 months: Regional Anaesthesia at Ambulatory Surgery Centre

(Performing regional anaesthesia and supervising residents and nurse anaesthetists)

1 day/week as staff in Abulatory Centre and Riverside Hospital

1 week for expected presentation at academic conference

1 month elective with opportunity for clinical research

Regular educational input with lecture series, Journal club and simulation and workshop sessions.

Must be American Board of Anesthesiology certified and have Minnesota Permanent License and DEA license.
