Airway at Fiona Stanley Hospital

The largest head and neck cancer centre in Western Australia, also performs a large amount of ENT and maxillofacial surgery.

This sought after fellowship focuses on advanced airway management skills and fellows are expected to assist in the running of our ANZCA approved airway rescue course run out of the veterinary hospital at Murdoch University.

Allocated lists include major ear, nose and throat, maxillofacial and bronchoscopy.

Fellows are expected to become proficient in awake fibreoptic intubation in addition to the use of other airway techniques and equipment.

Selection criteria are:

1. Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia

2. Completion of final fellowship exam (FANZCA or overseas equivalent from comparable training programme)

3. Demonstrated high level skills in all aspects of the CanMEDS physician competency framework

4. Prior teaching, research and audit experience are desirable
