This fellowship is specifically designed for doctors wishing to develop their roles as educators.
The trust has an active postgraduate education centre which host undergraduate and post graduate education. ALS, APLS, EPLS, ATLS and GIC are all delivered in addition to other speciality specific courses. In addition, there is a high-fidelity, video-monitored, simulation centre.
The department is involved in academic research with a very active research department and trainees pursuing higher qualifications e.g. PhD/MD/MSc
One expected output of the fellowship is the development of new and existing education packages.
The experience gained will be invaluable in completing the modules necessary for a PGCert, diploma or masters in medical education.
Anaesthetic services will take place at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital and out of hours commitment will be between theatres and the intensive care unit
depending on service and training needs.
