4250 deliveries per year.
Fellows will be taught to critically appraise current research into labour analgesia and care during caesarean section. Will gain experience of ultrasound guided CSE and epidural placement and the multidisciplinary management of high risk cases.
2 days a week spent on delivery suite with the rest of the time spent in general theatres. One day per week allocated to research if the Fellow has an ongoing project related to the fellowship. All day-time work is supervised by a consultant but fellow will also be responsible for supervision of junior staff. Fellow will be expected to participate in teaching of junior and senior residents and medical students. On calls will be based in the obstetric department.
