Gain clinical experience in labour analgesia and anaesthesia for a range of high risk patients.
3500 deliveries per year, 3300 have anaesthetic input.
Expected to run the floor in labour ward, supervising residents, and work on the obstetric/paediatric on call rota. Once a week work in main theatres to maintain general anaesthesia skills.
Will complete a two week rotation in NICU and learn neonatal resuscitation.
Opportunity for a two month rotation at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, MA.
Take part in month long research rotation, participate in ongoing projects and present at annual conference
Participate in daily teaching of residents and at journal clubs and obstetric emergency simulator sessions. Also attend weekly M&M meetings.
