Fellows in Anaesthesia at the Queensland Children's Hospital are offered 6 or 12 month fellowships, working 38 hours per week typically spread over four days.
We run 14 theatres plus multiple offsite location covering all major specialties besides heart/lung transplants. As a tertiary hospital our case mix is complex with a high burden of unwell patients.
Fellows are supported with their own Supervisor of Training, a group of Fellow Support consultants, and regular protected teaching sessions.
Fellows are also involved in teaching of junior trainees, simulation based training and teaching, auditing and research, and mentorship of registrars.
