Based at the 87 bed American Family Children's Hospital.
Department works with a very complex case volume, supported by 21-bed PICU with ECMO capability, 14-bed NICU, hybrid cath-lab and interventional radiology suite. Around 100 paediatric cardiac cases per year.
Rotation consists of:
9 months general OR ( including one cardiac case per week and 1-2 regional blocks per week)
1 month PICU
2 weeks NICU
2 weeks Acute Pain
1-2 academic days per month
Call occurs every 4th night and every 4th weekend from home.
Opportunity to join departmental annual trips to hospital in Nicaragua.
Education provided by daily teaching sessions (incl grand rounds, M&M), quarterly simulation sessions and journal club.
