Daily will perform regional anaesthesia and instruct residents, under the supervision of faculty, in the purpose-built 6-bed regional anaesthesia and acute pain area. Gain experience in nerve stimulator and ultrasound guided peripheral nerve blocks, extended release epidural morphine and ambulatory perineural infusions.
Involvement in the Acute Pain Service which co-ordinates with the regional anaesthetics initiated in the RAAPM area.
One day per week as faculty member, supervising residents and SRNAs for general cases in the operating rooms
Education through grand rounds, m&m meetings, subspecialty conferences and cadaver dissections.
Fellows expected to prepare presentations.
Encouraged to participate in research and present a project by the end of the year.
On-call commitment of 1:8 is provided from home, specific to the acute pain service.
Must hold unrestricted North Carolina Medical License.
