Major tertiary referral centre in Toronto and the largest Trauma centre in Canada.
Develop expertise in managing trauma from the initial patient triage stage, through intraoperative care and into the postoperative period. Fellows will be trained in the Trauma Team Leader role, initially under supervision, but eventually working independantly. When not working as the Trauma Team Leader, the fellow will be based in theatres, predominantly in trauma and burns cases.
3 months will be spent in the trauma/surgical/burns ICU.
Pain management in the trauma patient is also a key component of the fellowship.
Fellow will be expected to participate in research of a quality improvement project during the year.
Applications should be made at least 18 months in advance.
